Art class in Searcy High School

A Form of Earth Made Art.

SEARCY, Ar. (LP) — In the Searcy High School, they have different art classes to help students become better in this known profession. What does the word art mean anyways? Art is something that is created with deep imagination and skill and that is beautiful or that expresses important ideas or feelings. Art is a loved activity all around the world and is celebrated everyday by billions of people. Also, art can help people express themselves in different ways, “Art helps me express my feelings and my art,” says Skylar Majors.

Art is very beneficial to our life, it’s everywhere we look. It’s part of our culture, our being and preserving history. Sometimes people think that art is a drawing or a painting is the only art that exist but it isn’t, art is everywhere! Art can be seen in the houses we live in, the cars we drive, in the schools we attend, and even in the food we eat. It took the imagination of an artist to design our homes, our cars, our schools, our food  and just about everything else in our lives. If you think about it, you will realize just how beautiful art is. The works of art are very powerful and magical to the human eye and touch. “Art is very important to our society. Art cuts through the barriers of society and helps to shape the world that we know through creative ideas,” says Mr. Terry Hester, the art teacher of Searcy High School. Art has changed the world in so many ways.

As a teacher of art, Mr. Hester gets the joy of watching his students succeed and advance in art each day. “The satisfaction of watching students succeed, whether is the success of a beginning art student realizing that they can create something that they didn’t think they could. As well as pushing an advanced art student beyond what they thought they could go, even perhaps the student having  award winning art.” In the Searcy High School, Mr. Hester gets to teach four different art levels to help his students advance in the world of art and color. All the way from Art I – Art V, he’s quite the busy man if you ask me. We appreciate his contributions towards making Searcy High School a more colorful place and putting the love in art in so many students hearts and minds.
