SEARCY, Ar. (LP) — Throughout the year there all special times for us. Certain events that matter a lot to us. Here lately we are going through two major holidays back to back. Couple days ago we all spent the day stuffing ourselves and making more memories with our close ones in life, with Thanksgiving. It is important to be with family during Thanksgiving because of many reasons. The reason that Thanksgiving is a historical holiday, and was started when the pilgrims came to the New World, present-day North America, and set up a feast to share with the Native Americans a peace treaty. In reality, Thanksgiving is a time to appreciate those around us and give thanks to all. Everyone has different opinions on each holiday and likes some better than others. Some people may like Christmas more than Thanksgiving. There is a meaning behind each holiday and a event that caused each and every one of them for us to be celebrating it in todays world. In the United States there are 10 annual holidays that are celebrated.

“Thanksgiving is my favorite because it brings all of our family together and we spend that time having a good time,” stated Arden Elliot, SHS Student. There are many things that come from these Holidays and most family memories come from celebrating these. Lots of these holidays have a historical meaning behind these as well. “Thanksgiving gives me the opportunity to love on others and show my gratitude towards those,” stated Arden. Everyone appreciates something different in all of these holidays and each one comes with different emotions and feelings in the air.
“Christmas is a great time to get with family and cook a big meal for everyone and enjoying the time that we spend together,” stated Amber Creameans. Although there are at times that there is more to be celebrated. Each holiday has a very meaningful reason and for the day and the reason for the things that happened. “Christmas will bring all the families together and the feeling of Christmas, the snow, and all of the decorations make it such an interesting time of the year,” stated Creameans. Many things that go into the holiday of Christmas and many companies put in a lot of work to make the Christmas spirit feel great around people.
