Homecoming & Beyond! Searcy Lions on a Win Streak 7-0

SEARCY, AR. (LP) — The Searcy Lions are on a roll this year in high school football. Now with a record of 7 wins and 0 losses, it’s safe to say the Searcy Lions will continue being a standout team until the battle for “Top Dog” at the State Championship makes way.

The Lions have been putting on a show against every team they’ve played so far. Compared to last year, their performance is a little upgrade that has them fully prospering towards being the greatest team of this year. They’ve beaten teams who have seemed to best them at their own game in 2018. Last season, the Lions came up with a loss against the Blue Devils, but this year’s homecoming game in Searcy set the Blue Devils up for an upset. Searcy ended up coming out with the win, ending off with a score of 54, to West Memphis’ 21. Last Friday, on October the 18th, the Pine Bluff Zebras took a more massive loss against the Lions with a final score of 42-6. So this can only be considered one thing—ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! The fact that the Lions must’ve put in the full work and time to establish solid game-play like this is absolutely outstanding as well. With that being said, you can say that the Lions are in the hot seat for number one high school football team in the 6A Conference.

It seems the coaches and the teammates couldn’t feel nothing more, but humbled by these results. The win last Friday was even a special win for the Lions,  according to WR Dallas Loftis.

“The win felt great,” said Loftis.”The big sacks Garrett Osman had and the deep passes to Marlon and Dameon, all amazing. Everyone understood how big the win was for the team and the city in general. First time we won at that stadium.”  It seems like everything is working out as planned for each player and Loftis, if not anyone else on the team, couldn’t agree more so himself. His motivation to play hard for the team is for a very simple reason alone—the love of the game. “My motivation to play is mostly just me getting locked in and ready to play the best I can. I used to dream about going to the NFL, but now I just love the game.”

The Searcy Lions are on a run this year, which for sure means they possibly got the State Championship locked down. Can the Lions continue their run with only three games left? Tune in to their game this Friday on October the 25th to see if they can carry the torch until the end of the season.
