STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS 11-14-19

CONGRATULATIONS to the cast and crew of Into the Woods Jr. for great performances on Nov. 7-9.  We had great turnouts for our matinee and both of our evening performances!  Thanks to everyone who showed their support!

 SHS BASKETBALL GAME: We want to “camo” (camouflage, bright orange hats, etc…) out the gym tomorrow for our first home basketball game of the season!!! JV Girls at 5:00, Varsity girls at 6:00. 

 

THIS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15 IS AMERICA RECYCLES DAY!!! 

We will be in the hallway by the cafeteria during both lunches for people to sign up to PLEDGE to RECYCLE for a BETTER TODAY!

 

AMERICAN LEGION: If you are a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of an American Legionnaire in good standing of two or more consecutive years, please see Mrs. Cleveland in the Guidance Center for a scholarship opportunity.

 CALVIN COOLIDGE SCHOLARSHIP: Any high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2021 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply for the Calvin Coolidge Scholarship. All applications must be completed online and submitted by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Thursday, January 16, 2020. Please visit www.coolidgescholars.org for application.

 

 AMERICAN LEGION: Any student interested in participating in the American Legion Department Oratorical Contest please see Mrs. Cleveland in the Guidance Center.

 

CONGRATULATIONS to Emily Baker for being named to the 2019 UCA Honors Wind Ensemble.  Based on a statewide nomination system, she was chosen to participate in a two-day clinic/concert on the campus of UCA on December 5-6.  Miranda Webb and Katherine Peters were chosen as alternates, as well.  Congratulations to these talented band students!

LIBRARY FINES: The library will accept canned food for the food drive as payment for library fines.  Each food item will count as 50₵ toward your fine.

SOCCER TRYOUTS: Tryouts for boys soccer will be held at the practice field by the baseball/softball fields on Thursday November 14 from 3:30 – 4:30 for anyone interested. This will be our 2nd and last tryout and our team will be made up after this tryout for the spring season. 

JOSTENS REPS: will be on campus Thursday, Nov 21st during both lunches to deliver class rings.  They will be in English Lab 111.

FOOD DRIVE: We will have a food drive from Nov. 11-15 to benefit Searcy families for Thanksgiving.  Please bring unperishable food to your 1st period class- show Searcy how we care for our community!

 

VANGUARD DAY at ASU Beebe will be held Friday, November 15.  This is a great opportunity for seniors to see what ASU-Beebe has to offer them.
