Addictive Frequencies

Searcy, AR (LP) — Considering how many tracks nowadays sound completely dull or that most are not all the way there, we yet later want to hear it again. This is supposedly a hidden trick in most electronic music tracks that pull in our attention with either female or male vocalists or just simple mind bending breakdowns after unstoppable builds. In 1953, there was a world wide agreement that the middle “A” key on a piano should be tuned to 440 Hz, which was mostly what all the western classic’s instruments were set to in the chromatic scale. Nowadays many experimental artists have turned the tables to branch off of different frequencies which are impacting our human health greatly. Meaning that 440 Hz is okay for our ears to take in, but 432 Hz brings our mental state to a peaceful state of mind and these instruments set to 443 Hz help release emotional blockage. Now 440 Hz is said to benefit our minds to experience more of our deeper conscience which helps our cognitive development.

Going into how the Music Industry can implement manipulation on listeners, we dive into more dangerous frequencies that sounds can and have traveled towards which is below 50 Hz down to even 10 Hz. The frequencies of 7 Hz can disturb the organs like brain and heart which run through these single digit frequencies. Around 37 Hz can cause stomach disorders, Pulmonary and even Cardiac. Within the studies of Infrasound and frequencies causing physical effects on humans, the sound frequencies unheard by us created by storms, earthquakes, and even just riding in a car for a long period of time has these effects on us without us knowing. Though, we can take in these frequencies without any effects unless its generally aimed directly at a person or even an animal. Sound manipulation goes deeper than just listening to your favorite song or instrumental band which causes higher frequencies we can hear and take in. These frequencies have more impact on us since we can take in what the sounds and textures are producing. Our emotions and personal opinions don’t just know what’s dark and eerie in music, or what’s high and bright and truly uplifting. These frequencies caused by the producers or artists choices are the effects in which our mental state and emotional take in. Depending on the person of course, we have many varieties of music, but generally the tracks heard around the world have had greater frequencies and some that even manipulate our censoring in our minds that grab our attention or give us good feelings.

Generally speaking, the manipulation of sound design and frequency is against the law due to dangers that some frequencies may have on a person or even the environment. If you find the exact frequency of an individual(which many are different) and bounce the same frequency through a sound wave you can “split their atoms”(not true at all) but will cause a nosebleed, bodily functions to fail, or if truly blasting these frequencies it can cause air embolism in the lungs that then travels to the heart and kill. Sound manipulation has consequences and a lot of restrictions. The sound manipulation that the Music Industry has on us is only through audible quality. Through the time of listening to your favorite music you might start to have headaches, feeling noxious, and even fatigue or dizziness which is honestly blamed by many other assumptions throughout our daily lives. We tend to protect ourselves not only from harmful bacteria, but harmful frequencies? Those who work around the clock using higher frequency audio speakers tend to have these effects later down the line(mostly experienced producers know what to use and not use). “The music industry has paved the way for manipulating our favorite tracks so their production and profits increase.” Its unbelievable but could be true. Like any other theory, the manipulation with sound can deal with anything. From a class of students working more efficiently while listening to classical music than a class not listening to music at all. The music industry has found many more ways of manipulating consumers but this one hits home run and can be harmful to many who take in frequencies differently than others. Whether you believe it or not, sounds damage slowly and fatally.

Stepping inside and behind the scenes of the manipulative sound designs and frequencies most commonly used in today’s electronic cultural genres and heavy electronic instrumentalism. Sven Selka has made a major impact on the music industry by redefining what we think and feel about soundscapes. Sven dove into producing music and sound design when he was around 14 years old. Taking sound manipulation and foley sound design to a whole new level.

“Really sound manipulation is still a myth factor, but you can design a few interesting sounds that people would find dope,” explained Sven. “Typically I have steered away from the darker formulas for reese and introduced a more uplifting reese formula that of course I hope lifts the audience up which helps bring comfort and yet drives the listener closer to the atmosphere and story, which of course depends on the theme and direction of the product’s structuring.” said Sven Selka. Occasionally when sound manipulation is used we normally would find it within movie trailers, or often times in soundtracks for advertisement. Sven Selka continues, “I’ve tried many different styles, I can tell where the idea of manipulative sounds came into play through thrilling soundtracks or generally horror film foley design. Mainly whenever I dove into the theatrical atmospheres it did seem convincing that most chosen sounds in uplifting soundtracks have a huge emotional impact.”

Thankfully the known research in manipulative sound designs and the thought of the music industry manipulating the audience to raise proffits is not true and in fact if it was true it could be seriously dangerious, but of course the manipulation of that statement could also be invalid as well. Stepping into manipulation of sounds is a tricky subject and as we have dove behind the scenes of Sven Selka, we now can take a look into the marketing and business spectrum of manipulation within the music industry. Cymatics plays a small part but strives to produce massive support to millions of music producers and film producers looking for those addicting textures to add to their tracks. Steven Skunberg, Co-Founder of Cymatics explains, “Outcomes in using the wrong frequencies can have huge effects on the audience. For one, it’s true that lower frequencies in bass and any harder trebles like lower strings can sometimes cause headaches, feeling noxious or even dizziness.” Steven has studied and helped produce with his best friends for a few years now on frequencies and sound designing that can heal and make you feel uplifted and motivated. “Usually it depends on the subject and theme of the track, I wouldn’t say that always using manipulative sound design is healthy. It honestly depends on the instrument and the compression within the effects chain and decibels  range, and also the general audience which we all know people are different from each other. Whether they can hear the frequencies, it depicts the effects taken in,” explained Steven.

MEGATRON Cybertron, Electronic Trance EDM Artist. Master of the atmospheric arts.

Within sound designing these unique frequencies, we take a closer look into individual artists who’ve dove into this side of the addiction. Known as MEGATRON Cybertron, a good friend of the industry remains anonymous but still very known for his unstoppable sound manipulation and courageous talents that bring out more of the chosen unified atmospheres known now to man kind within the very tracks that Cybertron creates. “I like to use synth pads with crisp bright sounds/frequencies. For me these sounds reflect the stories I want to tell. There is something in synth pads that add beauty to the music, or any genre.” Cybertron continues to blow away his audience with mastering the atmospheric arts. This takes a lot of work in sound engineering and designing for these frequencies chosen. “I use Cubase pro daw, it is filled with many vsts and great drum machines. Sylenth1 is also among my favorite vsts in my productions. I use Quasimidi Raven a lot. It is a great Vintage Synthesizer, a real Synthesizer and not a VST. It has digital sounds with analog vibes of the wonderful old analog sounds. Jean Michel Jarre loves this synth. Roland mc-505 is another great synth that I like.” Cybertron explains once more, taking a further step into how these sounds can be created for good. Sound frequencies can be used for many different uses, some agree with the use of force, some don’t think so highly of it. “I do not use sounds or frequencies to manipulate listeners, I use them to make the listening experience more fascinating which is the purpose of any artist.” Cybertron gives an amazing statement. Using sounds to broaden the experience the audience takes in is worth more than anything else to an artist. Cybertron finishes, “Sound design is an essential part in music, to create your own sounds from the default sounds, it makes the music more absorbing, diverse and interesting. I enjoy creating my own sounds with Lfo filters. I am convinced that there are dictorial regimes or scientists that research frequencies and their effects in terms of manipulation and in my opinion is definitely against the law.”

Of course at the end of any grand authentic track without any minipulation we tend to still enjoy, there are many producers out there that go beyond creativity and only focus on the profits gained and the audience at hand. Sadly these days it is true that most undercover agencies focus on manipulating the audience and gaining popularity which leaves out the true artists who work even harder for their creations and fans around the world or localy. If you ever come across knowing more in life behind the scenes the smaller this world is. Sound frequencies are just the scratch of the surface when it hits home for illegal acts and inhumane ideas for the new generations that have and will come.
