What’s next after high school?

Searcy, AR (LP) — Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior. The four stages mark the checkpoints of high school. Freshman year is the year to get to know the school and your surroundings. Sophomore year you are familiar what’s expected of you and have the aid of teachers and personnel. Junior year is the realization that you’re at the door of freedom. Senior year is where that door opens into the world. Most of them have plans for what they want to accomplish in their lives. Some of them have no idea of what they want to do. There is nothing more scary than being released into this world without an effective plan of where to go or what to do in life. Fortunately, school has somewhat gave an idea of what to expect in the real world. The past 12 years has been a ride and watching our classmates, friends and colleagues walk over a stage to receive a diploma for all their hard work. Despite the rejoice with the completion of school there is a ton of memories that led up to that moment. Those memories have impacted their way of life and shifted to who they are now.

Triston chilling after 4 years of hardwork and dedication.

Triston Conway is a senior and it’s been a rocky climb to the top. He’s one of many determined people with the mindset of advancing on in life and has his goals in order. He said, “I plan on getting my CDL and work for truck companies. Also I want to travel the world.” For Triston his dreams are already in his grasp but he mentions that school doesn’t get you fully prepared for the real world. There are certain skills and abilities that are not needed nor required for certain jobs. He said, “School only prepares for part of the real world. It doesn’t the contain the whole package. High school went by too fast. I remember two years ago I was a sophomore having the blast of my life and now I’m a senior.” We were all told that high school goes by quickly. All of our Jr. High teachers told us that and now we are gazing at this legacy that the class of 2022 has created. “I remember when my friend group was super close then one of them left the whole circle fell apart and I only stay in touch with only a few of them.” When he was asked what he would miss most about high school with almost no hesitation he said, “I’m going to miss the teachers. Like Mrs.Hightower, Mrs.Benningfield and Mrs.Wilibey.” It sucks that we witnessed so much change in our short free trial of the real world.
