Music Video Engineering and Ideas to Begin your own music video or short film

Terry Elliot – Works within the engineering and audio for visual access within Honey Hill Christian church’s live streams.

Searcy, AR (LP) — Today millions of artists, churches, and even sporting events are enjoying the social media platforms to display their videos, short film teasers and many more interesting visual effects which bring in more listeners and now viewers due to the pure sound playing over the video from either prerecorded tracks or live performances. Terry Elliot works within the engineering properties of audio and sound engineering and is now taking his idea of producing live streams for the church with gathering all the live instruments played during worship and enabling them to be heard clearer through the live stream. “The general mixer board can help rearrange each input from each chosen instrument and mic used during performances that are plugged into the mixer channels. The mixer board we use has 12 channels where mics and instruments can be plugged in and directed to each effect needed or wanted,” said Terry.

Due to different venues, the effects may vary. A loud open room can enable too much reverb and decreasing the use of reverb can help the overwhelming output. Running these channels to the video could warp the audio output or increase the mic effects and bring a ringing reverberated sound. That can be dangerous for those who don’t compress the master of the mixer board. “Each channel has their own ‘comp’ label where the compressor gain, and effects are in place. This comes in handy for bigger echoing rooms so you don’t increase the reverberated levels,” adds Terry. For smaller venues lowering the general mastering gain over all channels helps control the output, this can go into play for videos as well as live streams. “There are many different recording software which can enhance your ingenuity and performance within the general workflow of kicking off and even editing the videos afterwards which is a bonus!” said Terry. Nowadays if you have access to the internet, on a very useful personal computer or desktop you can do your own personal research on different video editing software out there that are recommended for music videos or even live streams over screen recording which many electronic artists are coming to love teasing their workflow which allows their fans, listeners and viewers into the reality of the music production universe.
