For Electronic Artists Who are Interested in Touring or Hitting up Gigs

Sven Selka before the unexpected absence of a manager for his own production. Organizing any tour and small live shows is NOT a one-man job.

Searcy, AR (LP) — Kick starting your career in music production as an artist usually is shaky while balancing the tedious work of copyrighting and coding each track. This time, taking a deeper step into the world of your own music has you wondering what more you could do for your fans and fans to come. Luckily this innovative step has the crowds roaring for more and hopefully chanting to your tracks. Sven Selka has been through it all within music production and his journey seems to not stop as he takes on the stages of new venues around Germany. Gigs are one thing, usually choppy due to the schedules of each place set for the small shows. Sven Selka has turned the tables for his career and dove right into the touring side of this breath-taking hobby. “I treat my music hobby as a job, aside from my regular work, I use this time I have within producing as the time to relax and take in more than just a bland schedule of life,” states Sven. You wouldn’t expect a hard-working music producer like Sven Selka to have ever called what he does best a hobby, but whenever you truly do what you love, you’ll for sure never work a day in your life. “Touring for me is absolutely inspiring and largely appreciated by all fans. I’m a very shy individual at times, but recently showing myself more I have come to realize that many appreciate the person behind all the work than just making the situation about the general production or work,” Sven added.

Deep down behind the scenes, tours are a brilliant way for artists to develop closer relationships with their fans to come, and also find themselves while experiencing the reaction from the fans in person to better understand their craftsmanship within their production. That being said, taking a look into a beginner has us wondering how they are feeling about the tour to come in their future. “I’m not really an artist, just doing this for fun. I started out in a one room apartment, and I never felt that I was worthy enough for showcasing my own tracks for a few thousand to truly hear my tracks personally,” said Dee. Starting out within showcasing your tracks is a heavy feeling and can usually be overwhelming whenever the stadium or venue you’re showcasing your music at gets unorganized and the line of artists to play that night gets scrambled. “Usually, the overwhelming never-ending pain of not knowing which track to start out first with kills the mood of starting at all, this takes away from the nervous aches and pains of the entire show itself. An unusual balance washes over and the first track has always been whatever track was touched first in my sets. There is always time for preparation, but surprising yourself is more fun because then you understand what the crowd is feeling,” explains Dee. Seeing the different sides of touring and hitting up gigs, the idea is made simple. Managers are everything and hopefully you can find one that is a close friend. There are many steps you can take for being your own booking agent and manager, never give up from trying new things.
