Senior Michaelah Weaver recently signed to play soccer in Ohio next year.
“Next year I’m going to go play for Cincinnati Christian University in Ohio,” Weaver said.
Weaver is happy to be able to play college level soccer next year.
“I think it’s going to be a great opportunity and I think it’ll be a great way to meet friends too,” Weaver said.
Michaelah is content with the size of the school and the location of the school.
“It’s a smaller Christian school and I’m just really excited,” she said.
Weaver’s teammates are supportive of her choice in colleges and are very excited to see her take the next step in her athletic abilities.
“I know that during her college tour of CCU she got to play with the team that she signed for,” said senior Ashley Jackson “She really liked it. She said all the people and all the teammates were really cool and she felt like she fit in like she was playing soccer for the lions.”
Rosario Bocanegra said she is excited for her but will miss her when she leaves the state.
“She’s a great player and a great teammate,” Bocanegra said. “We’re the only two seniors and I’m really going to miss her.”
Weaver’s friends and teammates will miss her greatly butare confident that she will be an asset to any other team.
“Getting to know Michaelah was amazing and she’s my best friend and it makes me really sad to see her go,” Jackson said. “We have to move on at some point and she’s going to have a great life. We’ll definitely road trip and see each other all the time.”
Jackson is happy that Weaver was able to sign with the college she really wanted to attend.
“I think Michaelah signing was really awesome its a big opportunity for her to get into the college she wants to without having to pay as much as she would have going somewhere else,” said Jackson.
