ACT PREP COURSE: <\/b>SHS will host a free ACT Prep Course\u00a0May 30-June 2\u00a0on the SHS Campus.\u00a0 Interested Searcy High School students may stop by the Guidance Center to sign up.\u00a0 There \u00a0is a limited number of slots available so students should sign up early.\u00a0 The deadline to sign up is\u00a0April 28.\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

SEMESTER ACT:<\/b> Any 11th or 12th grade student interested in taking a SEMESTER ACT preparation course next year needs to sign up in the Guidance Center ASAP. This class will prepare students for the ACT and will be for NO CREDIT. \u00a0 Deadline is\u00a0THURSDAY, April 13.<\/span><\/p>\n

ROBOTICS CLASS:<\/b> Any student interested in taking a ROBOTICS course next year needs to sign up in the Guidance Center ASAP.\u00a0 Deadline is\u00a0THURSDAY, April 13.<\/span><\/p>\n

AP EXAMS:<\/b> All AP students will be called to the cafeteria on\u00a0Wednesday, April 12 at 9:45\u00a0to pre-register for the AP exams. When you enter the cafeteria, you will sit at the table that has the sign of the first test that you will be taking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>CHANGE IN PROCEDURE TO REQUEST DRIVERS TEST ATTENDANCE FORM:<\/b>\u00a0 The office will provide the Drivers Test Attendance Form at the time the student is checked out to take the test.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>The student is responsible to make sure you have met the requirements to receive the letter before you have your parent come to the office to check you out. <\/span>Requirements: Student is maintaining a \u201cC\u201d average the previous SEMESTER (not a 9 week period)<\/span>, AND is properly enrolled in school.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ACT ASPIRE TEST<\/b>: The 9th grade ACT Aspire Summative Testing will be<\/span>\u00a0Tuesday\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0Wednesday, April 18-19<\/span>, from<\/span>\u00a08:00 AM till 11:00 AM<\/span>. Students will need to check with their English teachers beginning<\/span>\u00a0Thursday, April 13 <\/span>to find out where they will be testing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

YEARBOOK APPLICATIONS:<\/b> Those interested in applying for the 2017-18\u00a0<\/span>Lion\u00a0<\/span><\/i>yearbook staff may pick up applications in either office or see Mrs. Holeyfield. The deadline is\u00a0May 5, 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

ANATOMY LAB:<\/b> There will be an Anatomy lab April 24 in the PAC. This is available to anyone who has a science class. Get your consent forms in ASAP. <\/span><\/p>\n

SENIORS:<\/b> If you have not ordered or picked up your cap\/gown unit just a REMINDER!\u00a0 You cannot participate in graduation ceremonies if you do not have a cap\/gown.\u00a0 If for any reason you cannot obtain one, please see Ms. Daves.<\/span><\/p>\n

GOLF TRYOUTS:<\/b> Golf tryouts: Tryouts for the 2017 Lion and Lady Lion golf teams will be\u00a0May 15th-17th\u00a0at\u00a03:30\u00a0at Searcy Country Club.\u00a0 Students must have a current physical to tryout.\u00a0 Free Physicals at school are on\u00a0March 31st.\u00a0 Students can sign up and pick up an information sheet and physical form in Coach Turney’s room (117).\u00a0 There will be a\u00a0<\/span>MANDATORY<\/b>\u00a0meeting for all students trying out on\u00a0Wednesday, May 10th at 3:15\u00a0in Coach Turney’s room.\u00a0 You\u00a0<\/span>MUST\u00a0<\/b>sign up, have a physical, return the information sheet, and attend the meeting in order to tryout.<\/span><\/p>\n

BOYS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS:<\/b> \u00a0Tryouts for next year’s SHS boys’ basketball team for all spring sport athletes will be on\u00a0May 22nd and 23rd\u00a0at\u00a01:00\u00a0in the Annex gym.\u00a0 Any student who wishes to tryout must sign up with Coach White and have a current physical.\u00a0 For more information see Coach White or Coach Turney.<\/span><\/p>\n

GIRLS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS:<\/b> Tryouts for the girls basketball team will be\u00a0May 18th, 22nd and 23rd from\u00a01:30 – 3:30\u00a0each day.\u00a0 If you plan on trying out you will need to have a physical and attend every day of tryouts.\u00a0 If you need additional information contact Coach Birdsong room 315 at Searcy High School.<\/span><\/p>\n

IMMUNIZATIONS<\/b>: \u00a0Once you have turned\u00a0<\/span>16 years old<\/b>, a 2nd MCV4 (meningitis) shot will be required.\u00a0 Please bring an updated shot record to the nurse as soon as you receive this shot.<\/span><\/p>\n

C*A*M*P*: \u00a0<\/b>Applications for C*A*M*P (formally known as M*A*S*H) are now available in the Guidance Center. They are due\u00a0April 21st\u00a0and need to be returned to the hospital. Students entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade this upcoming 2017-18 school year and have a 2.5 GPA may apply. More information is available on the cover sheet of the application<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

SCHOLARSHIPS:<\/b><\/p>\n
