CAFETERIA CHARGES:<\/b> “As per our board-approved\u00a0meal\u00a0charges\u00a0practice, \u00a0<\/span>no charging of cafeteria\u00a0meals\u00a0will be\u00a0<\/b>allowed during the period\u00a0<\/b>May 12-24, 2017<\/b>.<\/b>\u00a0 If this presents a hardship, parents\/guardians must contact Charlotte Davis, District Child Nutrition Director\u00a0<\/span>(501-268-3517<\/span><\/a>)<\/span>\u00a0or\u00a0<\/span>cdavis@searcyschools.org<\/span><\/a>) IMMEDIATELY to make special arrangements for their students to eat during this period of time.\u00a0 Please bring money as soon as possible to clear all current\u00a0charges\u00a0and to pre-pay for remaining\u00a0meals\u00a0this school year. BOYS SOCCER TRYOUTS<\/b>:<\/b> boys soccer tryouts will be held on\u00a0Tuesday May 23rd and Wednesday May 24th\u00a0at the grass field beside the softball field here at the high school from\u00a03:30-4:30. Anyone entering grades 9-12 next year and they must have a current physical to tryout.<\/span><\/p>\n

GOLF TRYOUTS:<\/b> Golf tryouts: Tryouts for the 2017 Lion and Lady Lion golf teams will be\u00a0May 15th-17th\u00a0at\u00a03:30\u00a0at Searcy Country Club.\u00a0 Students must have a current physical to tryout.\u00a0 Free Physicals at school are on\u00a0March 31st.\u00a0 Students can sign up and pick up an information sheet and physical form in Coach Turney’s room (117).\u00a0 There will be a\u00a0<\/span>MANDATORY<\/b>\u00a0meeting for all students trying out on\u00a0Wednesday, May 10th at 3:15\u00a0in Coach Turney’s room.\u00a0 You\u00a0<\/span>MUST\u00a0<\/b>sign up, have a physical, return the information sheet, and attend the meeting in order to tryout.<\/span><\/p>\n

BOYS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS:<\/b> \u00a0Tryouts for next year’s SHS boys’ basketball team for all spring sport athletes will be on\u00a0May 22nd and 23rd\u00a0at\u00a01:00\u00a0in the Annex gym.\u00a0 Any student who wishes to tryout must sign up with Coach White and have a current physical.\u00a0 For more information see Coach White or Coach Turney.<\/span><\/p>\n

GIRLS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS:<\/b> Girls basketball tryouts will be\u00a0May 22, 23 and 24 from\u00a01:30 to 3:30in the main gym at the high school.\u00a0 Everyone trying out will need to have a physical and get a tryout form from Coach Birdsong in room 315.<\/span><\/p>\n

TENNIS TRYOUTS<\/b>: Any student interested in trying out for the 2017 SHS tennis team should attend a mandatory informational meeting on\u00a0Thurs. May 18th\u00a0@\u00a03:30\u00a0in Dr. Watson’s room (SHS 317).\u00a0 Current high school students may begin signing up in Dr. Watson’s room, current eighth graders may begin signing up by emailing Dr. Watson, or students may sign up during next week’s meeting.\u00a0 Parents are invited to attend the meeting as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

IMMUNIZATIONS<\/b>: \u00a0Once you have turned\u00a0<\/span>16 years old<\/b>, a 2nd MCV4 (meningitis) shot will be required.\u00a0 Please bring an updated shot record to the nurse as soon as you receive this shot.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

CLASS OPTION<\/b>: <\/b>Any student who would like to take a semester of World Civ for college credit on the SHS campus and \/or American History for college credit on the SHS campus to stop by the Guidance Center and sign up.\u00a0 It will only be offered 1st period. \u00a01st semester it will be one class 2nd semester will be the other.\u00a0 Interested students can earn 3 hours college credit for each semester course.\u00a0 Students have to have a 19 on the Reading section of the ACT to enroll.\u00a0 The semester of World Civ will satisfy our World History requirement, if taken for college credit.\u00a0 The semester of American History will satisfy our American History requirement if taken for college credit.<\/span><\/p>\n

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS<\/b>:<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

FCCLA<\/b>:banquet has been rescheduled for\u00a0May 18th at 6 pm\u00a0in the cafeteria.\u00a0 Members may sign up and pay in FACS room.<\/span><\/p>\n
