STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS<\/b> \u00a0\u2022Wednesday\u2022 \u00a0November 8, 2017 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>www.shs.searcyschools.org<\/b><\/a><\/h1>\n

CONGRATULATIONS<\/b>: to Victoria Brown (bass clarinet), Margaret Lim (oboe), Lauren Brown (trumpet)\u00a0 and Tyler Roberson (trombone alternate) for being named to the 2017 UCA Honors Wind Ensemble.\u00a0 Of 130 applications, 55 high school musicians were chosen for this event.\u00a0 They will participate in a clinic on\u00a0November 30-December 1\u00a0and give a concert on the evening of\u00a0December 1\u00a0at the Reynolds Performing Arts Center on the UCA campus.\u00a0 Congratulations!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

ARKANSAS SCHOOL FOR MATH SCIENCE AND THE ARTS<\/b>: A representative from the Arkansas School for Math, Science, and the Arts will be here\u00a0November 16th, at a table outside the cafeteria during first and second lunch, to speak with any freshman or sophomore interested in applying to attend ASMSA.\u00a0 A minimum GPA of 3.25 is required for any interested applicant.<\/span><\/p>\n

GOVERNOR\u2019S SCHOOL: <\/b>11th grade students interested in attending Arkansas Governor’s School\u00a0<\/span>June 10-July 21<\/span>\u00a0must sign up in the Guidance Center by\u00a0<\/span>November 10<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

BOY\u2019S SOCCER:<\/b> 2<\/span>nd<\/span> Tryouts will be Monday Nov. 20<\/span>th<\/span>. \u00a03:30- 4:30 at the grass field. <\/span><\/p>\n

ASU Jonesboro Admission and Scholarship Updates<\/b>: <\/span>There are several changes regarding admission and scholarship criteria at A-State Jonesboro.\u00a0 They are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. The university\u00a0<\/span>WILL\u00a0<\/b>super score the ACT for institutional scholarship offers beginning with our fall 2018 offers.\u00a0 Admissions will also accept ACT super scores for admission to the university.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. \u00a0 \u00a0 A-State Jonesboro\u00a0<\/span>WILL\u00a0<\/b>upgrade fall 2018 institutional scholarship offers for qualifying students who take the December 2017 ACT IF the student was admitted by the\u00a0December 1st\u00a0deadline and becomes eligible for a higher scholarship offer.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      1. In regards to the A-State Scholar, any upgrades would only be A-State Spirit through the A-State Excellence scholarships because the A-State Scholar will be awarded around the second week of December, as always.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS<\/b>:<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        KEY CLUB<\/b>: Key Club members need to drop by Mr. Snow’s room 112 and sign-up for the Pancake Breakfast ASAP scheduled for\u00a0Nov. 7th.\u00a0 Also sign-up for giving blood in the Key Club Blood Drive coming up on\u00a0Nov. 16th.\u00a0 We will also need a few workers for the Blood Drive.<\/span><\/p>\n
