\nSOFTBALL TRYOUTS: Softball tryouts will be held May 16 and 17 for any 9th-11th grade girl at the softball
\ncomplex, starting at 3:30 pm. We should be done by 5-530 each day.
\nAll participants will need to have a physical current through those dates and athletic clothes.

\nLADY LIONS SOCCER TRYOUTS will be\u00a0May 21st and 22nd\u00a0at Lion Stadium from\u00a03:30-4:30. Be sure to bring shin
\nguards.\u00a0 We will have soccer balls available. Jr. High needs to sign up in the office with Mrs. Hamilton and High School sign
\nup in the west office with Miss Dee Dee.
\nBOYS SOCCER TRYOUTS: will be\u00a0May 21st and 22nd\u00a0from\u00a03:30-4:30\u00a0at the grass field located by the softball and
\nbaseball field here at the High School. Players must have a current physical to participate.
\nTENNIS TRYOUTS: Tryouts for the 2018 varsity tennis team will begin on May 14-15 @ 5:00 at the SHS courts.\u00a0 You
\nmust have a current physical in order to try out.\u00a0 No exceptions.\u00a0 Returning players must try out. The top 10 players on ladies'
\nand men's sides will make varsity.\u00a0 Everyone else will be invited to play in the SYTL. \u00a0Students may begin signing up for
\ntennis tryouts on\u00a0Mon. April 30th\u00a0in Doc Watson's room (317).
\nFINAL VARSITY BASKETBALL TRYOUTS : The final chance to try out for varsity basketball team will be\u00a0May 21
\nand 22\u00a0at\u00a01:00-2:30 pm\u00a0in the High School Gym. Students must have a current physical on file with the school to tryout.
\nGOLF TRYOUTS:\u00a0Tryouts for the 2018 SHS Lion and Lady Lion golf teams will be\u00a0May 14th-15th\u00a0at Searcy Country
\nClub.\u00a0 Any student wishing to tryout MUST sign up in Coach Turney's room (117), have a physical, and return the
\ninformation sheet.\u00a0 There will be a MANDATORY meeting in Coach Turney's room on\u00a0May 10th at 3:15\u00a0for all students
\nwishing to tryout.\u00a0 Free physicals at school are scheduled for\u00a0April 6th.\u00a0 Physical forms and information sheets can be picked
\nup in Coach Turney's room.
\nSUMMER ACT PROGRAM: Searcy High School will offer ACT Prep this summer to interested Searcy High School
\nstudents.\u00a0 The program will begin\u00a0May 29\u00a0and run through\u00a0June 1 from 8:00-12:30\u00a0each day.\u00a0 Interested students can pick
\nup an application in the Guidance Center at their convenience.\u00a0 The class will be offered on a first come first served basis.
\nThe deadline to return the completed application is\u00a0May 21.
\nSUMMER SCHOOL: Searcy High School will offer summer school to Searcy High School students who
\nhave\u00a0failed\u00a0courses.\u00a0 SHS summer school is for credit recovery ONLY.\u00a0 \u00a0We will offer courses in English, math, science,
\nsocial studies, foreign language, as well as a few electives.\u00a0 Students in need of summer school may pick up an application in
\nthe Guidance Center at their convenience.
\n11TH GRADE STUDENTS: Command Construction is offering a PAID summer apprentice program for rising high school
\nseniors.\u00a0 The 8 week program offers the opportunity for selected applicants to learn the concrete construction industry.
\nSelected students will earn $12\/hour.\u00a0\u00a0The program will run from\u00a0June 4-July 27.\u00a0 Students will be supervised by an
\nexperienced team leader and will work one month with a specialized construction carpenter and one month with a concrete
\nfinisher.\u00a0 Applicants must be 17 or become 17 during the apprenticeship period. Applications are due by\u00a05:00 pm\u00a0on\u00a0Friday,
\nMay 25.\u00a0 Interested students can pick up an application in the Guidance Center.
