Searcy AR (LP) – The Humane Society of Searcy, Arkansas has many dogs and cats ready for adoption. These animals come from people dumping them in the street, wilderness, or that the animal reproduces to make feral colony of cats and dogs alike. Adopting an animal can save them from living a life in a cage or dying alone without a human to love or snuggle them.

According to the owner of the Humane Society of Searcy there are usually 70 – 90 adoptions per month. The owner also said, “I think the adopted animals are thankful to all of you for giving them a forever home.” The Humane Society of Searcy is open every day from 1:00pm to 5:00 pm. According to the site the adoption fee is $60, if the animal has not yet been spayed or neutered then they will give you a $30 certificate to use towards having this done. If you rent you must bring in written permission from your landlord allowing you to have a pet. There are approximately 50 volunteers working at the Humane Society of Searcy each month for community service and good will.

The Humane Society of Searcy is not looking for more workers currently, but the workers at the Humane Society of Searcy work 36 hours a week. According to a worker for the Humane Society of Searcy, “We have some animals that come in that are scared of storms. In that case we do have shirts we can put on them or medications to help with the fear and anxiety in them.” The Humane Society of Searcy calls the vet to do home checks whenever the Humane Society of Searcy feels it is necessary. The Humane Society of Searcy also takes the dogs out to the play yards for exercise and to play with balls and other tools too. According to another worker at the Humane Society of Searcy, “I recommend adopting from the Humane Society of Searcy we have plenty of great pets and they all need a good home also I have adopted one of my pets from there and she is a great dog.” They try to match up people with animals and see if they get along with their kids and other pets they may have. So adoption is a great way to help an animal in need and for the animal to have a forever home.
