Each year the week before spring break is celebrated as “Foreign Language Week” \u00a0by Spanish and French students with many activities.<\/p>\n

“I learned a long time ago that whatever I teach in the week before spring break I have to reteach,” Lori Nielsen, Spanish teacher said. “So we decided to have a fun week of cultural activities with all the classes together.”<\/p>\n

Food, talent show and a movies were among the activities of the week.<\/p>\n

“Foreign language week is fun because we get out of class every day for a week,” said junior, David Woods.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the foreign language department supplied food for all of the students in French or Spanish.<\/p>\n

Woods said his favorite day of the week was the day food was served.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, the teachers put on a talent show and even the teachers got into the act by dancing to a \u00a0Spanish song to kick off event.<\/p>\n

Mallorie Spiker and Jennah Denney performed a French song. Spiker played her guitar while Denney sang.<\/p>\n

“Mallorie and Jennah did a great job at the talent show,” Sophomore, Micah Tipton, said,<\/p>\n

After the girls performed, the students had the opportunity to go on stage and learn a Spanish style dance.<\/p>\n

The last three days of the week the movie, Hugo, was in English but had Spanish subtitles. Hugo also took place in Paris bringing in all the French scenery.<\/p>\n

Teachers tried their best to make the week as entertaining as possible, even dancing for the students.<\/p>\n

“I needed more practice,” said Spanish teacher Wendy Cunningham.<\/p>\n
