Juniors had a big challenge this year to beat out the high scores of last year’s junior class on the literacy exam. So when the test was over in March, the students and teachers breathed a sigh of relief.

English teacher, Darlene Stewart was pleased with their effort. “They did great,” she said. “They worked very hard and have done a ton of open responses.”

Another junior English teacher Sherri Farhat said they worked hard, and they really took it seriously. “Judging from they group I had, they worked the entire time,” Farhat said.

The juniors took time in the previous weeks to prepare for the exam.""

“I took the test seriously and so did a lot of other juniors,” Junior, Emily Dunn said. “Our teachers knew we would take it seriously.”

Junior David Wood was ready when it came time for the test. “The literacy test was kind of hard, but our teachers prepared us.”

Many juniors think they scored very well on the test because of all the preparation. “The test was easy because we knew everything we needed to know,” Dunn said.

Most juniors feel they met the challenge and scored higher than this year’s seniors. “I think we did better than the seniors last year because we’re really smart,” Woods said.

Farhat hopes the scores will arrive by the second week of May. However, individual scores will arrive probably sometime in June.

“I can’t wait to see my scores because I think I did really good,” Woods said.
