A few weeks ago, many high school students auditioned and began rehearsals for this years fall musical Oklahoma!
Senior Emily Crawford thinks the show will be successful.
“I feel that the show can appeal to both high school students and adults,” Crawford said.
Searcy drama students hope that this production will have a higher attendance number and a wider variety of audience members.
“I think this musical is going to bring us a lot of audience members and hopefully fill the house more than we have in the past,” said senior Lauren Pettypool.
Even though rehearsals are just beginning, many cast and crew members can already tell that this show will not only be different but also challenging.
“I feel that it’s gonna be different for our drama program; it’s going to be something that we haven’t done in a long time and I feel it will challenge are abilities as actors and tech people,” said Crawford.
All in all, the drama department feels this is going to be a great show and really please the audience and students at Searcy High School.
“I think it’s going to be really good and bring in a lot of income and show off our talent amazingly,” Pettypool said.
Be sure to come out and support the drama department in their production of Oklahoma! on October 20 and 22.
