The Lady Lions are having a rough starting conference at one for two.
“Well, so far the season hasn’t gone that great, because we lost the first two games. But, since we won tonight, I think it will just get better from there,” said senior McKenna Smith.
Injuries have affected the team and players in many ways this season.
“Well, it’s terrible. I don’t get to play and I have to soak in ice baths. I had to stand in a trash can full of ice. It’s terrible. It’s not fun at all,” said sophomore Felicia Van Winkle.
Junior Britnee Broadway said she feels the season is going well so far but the injuries are a problem.
“We have rocky moments, but then we get back on track. So, it’s going pretty good right now,” said Broadway. “It affects us a lot. At one point we had four people in buckets of ice during practice. And we had to cancel a couple JB games, but at least we’re getting better. We can rest our feet, legs, and ankles and everything.”
The Lady Lions have a lot of confidence for the end of the season.
Broadway is looking toward the end of the season.
“I think we are going to go all the way to the state championship,” said Broadway.
Sanders said the team will continue to get better as te season continues
“Well, if we keep improving like we’ve been, and keep applying what we learn in practice then we’ll do good. We’ll just keep our heads up,” said Sanders.
