Football season is officially here, which means colder weather, hoodies, nachos, marching band, and Friday night lights!

Friday, September 6 kicked off the start of football season when the Lions triumphed over the McClellan Crimson Lions, 38-13.

Coach Poole has high expectations for this upcoming season.

“I expect us to go out and work hard every week to practice and to compete at a high level of Friday nights,” he said.

The Lions played their best Friday night to earn their first victory.

“We played consistently in the second half of the game,” Poole.

The night was full of excitement, with the pep teams dancing and the band playing. The crowd was screaming and the music was loud. The lights were bright and the concession stands were crowded.

The team works extra hard during the week to perfect the plays and practice endurance, speed, and strength.

Preparation for the season includes a variety of things.

“They went through two weeks of spring football practice in May. We then went through four weeks of our summer program during the month of July, along with 7 on 7 and team camps,” said Poole.
