The beginning of the year also means a start for the drama department.

The first play of the school year is The Suessical.

Students were very excited to audition for various parts in the musical.

“I’m excited. I got better than I thought I would,” said freshman Khent Zeringue.

Some students have been practicing practically all their lives for these roles.

Jordan McGrath even started even back when he was a child.

The Suessical brings back memories for the actors in the musical.

“I am very excited. It has been a life long dream, since I was eight years old, to play cat in the hat,” said McGrath.

It is a passion for the participants in musical, not just a hobby.

“It’s very fun to portray different characters,” said Sarah Swain.

These musicals have a way of bringing people together. Even the new faces to the musical scene.

The seats may be empty when rehearsing, but they definitely will not be when the actual show comes around.
