Coach Walter King thinks soccer is thrilling, fun, and a very difficult sport.
“You have too practice, practice, practice,” Walter said. “I enjoy coaching. It is very enthusiastic and like having the players. They give their all and try their hardest.”
Walter said soccer isn’t very stressful, compared to other sports.
It’s better to give them encouragement, than be stressed and take it out on them.
Searcy soccer has has a past of being state champions Walter thinks they will continue this tradition.
“I believe that this soccer year has a good chance, although there are alot of young people who are going to have to step up and work alot harder then they sually did when they were in soccer leagues,” Walter said.
The team practices throughout the week for 45 minutes to an hour each day doing drills to improve their skills.
“My soccer players have improved since they have started practicing,” Walter said.
“If people are interested in being in soccer, they have their mind set on soccer.”
It will be very difficult if you are not very skilled at the sport.
Freshman AJ Mazon has been playing since this year and loves it.
“Soccer is my favorite thing to do. I enjoy doing it, it can be difficult at times, but it is well worth it,” Mazon said. “I hope to go far in Soccer.”
Most people think Soccer is a “wimpy” sport, but honestly, you have to play the sport before you can say that. It may be a lot harder than it might look.
