Searcy (LP) As the year progresses, many people are looking forward to a one week vacation from work or school known as spring break. Around mid march, families around the world travel to new destinations looking for fun! Between beaches, dancing, shopping, hiking, and destinations galore, there’s no shortage of things to do on your spring break. Before you take off, you need to know where to travel. To Luke Counts, “ it doesn’t matter where you’re going as long as you’re having fun. Personally, I would go to Alaska because there’s a ton of outdoor activities and scenery”. If this might not be your cup of tea, don’t worry! I suggest you visit three of the top travel destinations in the world! If you go to: Austin, Texas, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, or Los Angeles, you are guaranteed to have an amazing time and make memories that will last forever! Number one on the list is Austin, Texas. Known as the music capital of the world, Austin, Texas offers everything for the whole family! If you have kids, one of the top attractions is Zilker Park. They have the Zilker Zypher miniature train that takes you on a tour of the park, and you can paddle a canoe on Lady Blind Lake! But if you’re a young adult, one of the premier spots to hit is Rainey Street. On Rainey Street, they have wine bars, live music venues, and cocktail lounges. Don’t go home too early Searcy (LP)though or you might not see the live performances at night! Even if you don’t party, Austin still has more to offer! One of my personal favorite attractions is the Lake Travis Zipline Adventures. It has five unique, the longest zipline in Texas, and the ninth longest zipline in the world! You also should consider visiting Waterloo records, to see up and coming musicians. Next on the list is Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Known as the Venice of Africa, Fort Lauderdale has 300 miles of waterway to explore. The weather is fantastic year round in Fort Lauderdale, and everyone suggests going to the international boat show. Boats from around the world come to this to show off their boats! A really cool night event is the Mai Kai Polynesian Dinner Show. You receive a full coarse meal and Polynesian guys dance with fire and invite the audience on stage to participate! While Austin is centered more around a musical spring break, and Fort Lauderdale is centered around a water filled spring break, Los Angeles offers an action filled spring break! One of the best places to visit in Los Angeles is Venice Beach. The beach itself it beautiful, with a great environment for the kids and lounges for the parents. Specifically for the adults, they need to visit The Standard in downtown, LA. It has one of the top pools in the world, a cocktail lounge, movie nights, and DJ’s for pool parties! The best trip for the whole family though would be to go on a tour of Warner Bros Studio. It goes through back lot streets, sound stages, sets and craft shops, and shows you where they shoot hit TV shows like the Big Bang Theory and Friends! No matter where you travel to over spring break, or if you spend the break at home, remember to have all kinds of fun and try something unique!
