Searcy (LP) Many people at SHS have amazing talents, but none of them have as many as Zion King.

You might have seen Zion dancing at Foreign Language Week, he was practicing with the choir when he saw some people were dancing and was interested. Dancing just seems to come naturally to Zion, he didn’t even practice for his performance in the show. This was Zions largest audience he has performed in front of,

“…Technically it was a lot bigger audience, before I would perform in front of maybe ten people.”

Zion started dancing when his mother introduced him to a video of someone dancing on his twelfth birthday.

“My mom called me into the living room and said hey check this video out…it was a pretty popular dancer and I thought that was really cool… although it actually took awhile to develop”.

Many people may not realize Zion has more talents than just dancing, he can sing, play piano, and draw. Although, Zion did not develop these talents on his own, his parents were a huge influence on his singing,

“My mom she grew up with a lot of hymns…so she knows how to sing all of that, and my dad grew up with a lot of soulful music”.

In the end, Zion is grateful that his parents are so supportive,

“My parents are so supportive with just the things that I do, as long as it doesn’t put anybody to shame” said Zion with a laugh.
