HOMECOMING TICKETS – We will be selling tickets to Homecoming during both lunches on Wednesday, September 27 and Thursday, September 28.
FUTURE FALL FEST: Searcy High School will host our annual Fall Future Fest on October 9. Seniors will be called to the cafeteria at 8:30 and juniors will be called at 9:30. Parents are invited to attend.
SHS BAND GOES TO WASHINGTON, D.C. : The American Veterans Center and Music Celebrations International have invited the Searcy High School Band from Searcy to be a representative of Arkansas in the 2018 National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. Mr. Tony Luzzi was informed of this selection based upon a nomination from Congressman French Hill. This patriotic spectacle will take place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2018. The parade will take place in the heart of the United States Capitol, making its way west down Constitution Avenue, and ending at the National Mall between the White House and the Washington Monument. The Searcy High School Band will be featured alongside bands representing all 50 states and other parade performers selected to march in this historic tribute to America’s heroes, past and present. Congratulations!
HOMECOMING SPIRIT WEEK:
Wednesday 9/27– Athletes vs. Mathletes ( 9-10 grades dress as nerds; 11-12 grades dress as athletes)
Thursday 9/28– Tacky Tourist Thursday ( Typical tourist attire: visors, binoculars, fanny packs… )
Friday 9/29– Dress to Impress ( Dress nicely, in church appropriate clothes for Homecoming
HOMECOMING PRACTICE: All Homecoming royalty and sweethearts will practice Wed., Sept. 27 at the field at 3:30. Dads do not need to attend. The Queen’s reception will be Thurs., Sept. 28 at 5:30 in the cafeteria. Homecoming court along with all escorts needs to attend. We will practice afterwards in the PAC. Dress is casual. This is not for parents just those involved in the Homecoming assembly. If you have any questions see Coach Cramblett.
SENIOR ADS: Extra senior recognition ads are located in the offices. They are due October 1.
OCT. 7 SONIC CARHOP FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT JACOB’S PLACE: Jacob’s Place Homeless Mission will host a carhop fundraising event on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sonic on Beebe-Capps Expressway. All tips and 10 percent of all sales will benefit Jacob’s Place, White County’s homeless mission for families with children.
Jacob’s Place board members and volunteers from the community will be carhopping. Order a meal or your favorite drink and be sure to tip well! Jacob’s Place provides shelter and an array of financial, job counseling and life skills programs to empower individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness.
In Arkansas, more than 21,500 children are homeless over the course of a year. White County’s nine school districts reported in the 2016-2017 school year an average 251 homeless students in grades K-12. Please help Jacob’s Place make a difference in the lives of White County families who do not have places to call home.

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS:
KEY CLUB: The new and former members of the Key Club will meet together Tuesday, Oct. 3rd at 7:35 in the cafeteria. If you have not paid your dues, do so as soon as possible. Dues can be dropped off to Mr. Snow in Rm 112. New members’ dues are $20 and returning members’ dues $15. We will be organizing the luncheons and the Blood Drive. Please be on time.
