SCHOOL CLOSURE INFORMATION:  Searcy School District uses various avenues to inform our parents and students if school will be closed due to inclement weather. Please be sure to access these resources if there is a question about school closure.

  1. We will send a text message and voice message to all students’ and employees’ primary contact number.
  2. We will post the closure information on www.searcyschools.organd the Searcy School District Facebook and Twitter pages.
  3. Channels 4, 7, and 11 will scroll closure information after being informed by Searcy School District.
  4. Local radio stations will be contacted and announce on the morning radio shows that school is closed. 

We will notify our students and parents as quickly as possible after the school closure decision has been made. Please make sure to utilize these designated methods for school closure information.

 

  1. & MISS SHS: It is time for Seniors to make nominations for Mr. and Miss SHS.  Nomination forms are in both offices where students (SENIORS ONLY) can write in a candidate before school, in between classes, or after school.  The nominees will then be voted on by the whole campus and revealed when yearbooks are distributed. The purpose and rules are listed below.  Nominations will be taken from January 12-January 18.

Purpose:  To search for outstanding male and female students who exemplify Lion ideals and values including personality, inner beauty, talent, and social responsibility.

Criteria:  (to be checked after nominations)

  • At least a 3.25 GPA
  • No suspensions in current school year
  • Must be involved in at least 3 school clubs and/or school sports
  • Must be a good role model, responsible, kind, etc

 

YEARBOOK ORDERS: TIME IS RUNNING OUT!  Outside each English classroom, there is a list of students who HAVE PAID for a yearbook. If your name is not on the list and you want a book, go to the website on the list to order one (www.jostensyearbooks.com).  You have a little less than a month left to preorder. Only a few extra books will be ordered, and they will be sold at a higher price.
