CONGRATULATIONS to the SHS Band on their ratings from the Region IV Concert Assessment on Tuesday night.  The Wind Ensemble earned a First Division in the concert portion and a First Division in the Sightreading portion.  The Symphonic Band earned a Second Division in the concert portion and a First Division in the Sightreading portion of the assessment.  These scores combined with the First Division rating earned from Marching Assessment designates the SHS Band as an ASBOA Sweepstakes Band.  Congratulations!

 

CONGRATULATIONS to the High School Orchestra on their ratings from the Region IV Concert Assessment on Tuesday night.  The orchestra earned a First Division in the concert portion and a First Division in the Sight-Reading portion.  These scores qualify the orchestra to be an ASBOA Sweepstakes Orchestra. Congratulations!  

 

BOYS OR GIRLS STATE :Any 11th grade students who are SERIOUSLY interested in Boys State or Girls State, please come by the Guidance Center and sign up by the end of the day Monday, March 25th. 


PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE FIRST EVER SHS CULTURE NIGHT: Celebrating Diversity in Searcy, sponsored by SHS World Language Department. SENIORS CAN APPLY FOR THE ARKANSAS TRUCKING ASSOCIATION CARL TAPP TECHNICIAN SCHOLARSHIP:Scholarship is awarded towards a two semester (30 hour minimum) medium/heavy duty truck technician program from a school that is within the state of Arkansas. Students may begin their course of study in either August or January based on individual program requirements.Applications are in the Guidance Center.

 

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS: High School Girls (10-12th) Basketball Tryout

April 15-16th from 3:15-4:30

MUST HAVE AN UPDATED PHYSICAL TURNED IN PRIOR TO THE START OF THE TRYOUT TO PARTICIPATE. TURN PHYSICAL AND TRYOUT FORM IN TO COACH SITZMANN BY APRIL 12TH!

 

FREE PHYSICALS OFFERED APRIL 5TH 3:30-5:00 AT SHS FIELD HOUSE.

PROM CLOSET: Searcy High School Prom Closet will hold its shopping date Tuesday, April 2 from 3:30-5 P.M. SHS students who are attending the SHS prom and would like to take advantage of the free service are invited to visit the SHS Prom Closet. Located on the 3rd floor of the Searcy High School Performing Arts Center, inventory consists of prom items for females such as dresses, shoes, purses, and jewelry, and a small inventory of men’s suits and ties. Students may also sign up for cosmetic services such as makeup and hair on the day of the prom. ALLIANCE RECRUITMENT AGENCY IS OFFERING A SCHOLARSHIP OF $1000 :

Eligibility Requirements

In order to participate in the scholarship contest, applicants must meet the following criteria;

 

The student should be either citizen or permanent resident of USA or Canada.

The student should have enrolled or planning to enroll for a course of study in cooking after high

 school education.

The student must have completed high school education.

 Interested students can pick up information in the Guidance Center.

 

TEXTBOOK CORNER will award four $250 scholarships to incoming freshman students attending ASU-Beebe this fall. The deadline is May 30th but if anyone misses that deadline, please turn in one anyway as they will still send a 10% off coupon.  

ATTENTION SENIORS! The community foundation is currently accepting scholarship applications for a wide variety of scholarships that the foundation administrates. Check out the eligibility quiz and share with others who may be interested. Scholarship applications generally have been down the last couple of years, so the odds are in your favor!
