U OF A :For seniors interested in applying at The University of Arkansas, and have not yet applied for admissions – the U of A is offering free application days for students from Arkansas on October 15-17.
FOOD PANTRY:The SHS Food Pantry is OPEN. The procedures for getting a food bag are different than in previous years. If you are in need of a food bag, inform a teacher and that teacher can help you to get a bag. You can also email Mrs. Edelmann at cedelmann@searcyschools.org to get a bag.
THE AMERICAN LEGION DEPARTMENT OF ARKANSAS: is offering several scholarships. Drop by the Guidance Center and see Mrs. Cleveland for more information.
THE ARKANSAS CHAMBER SINGERS BOARD OF DIRECTORS: is pleased to announce this season’s Vocal/Choral Scholarship Program for $1000 First Place and $500 Second Place. THis scholarship will be awarded to two Arkansas high school seniors who meet the qualifications set by the Board of Directors and be competitive with an audition process. Completed applications must be submitted postmarked no later than January 1, 2021. An audition and interview will be held on Sunday January 24, 2021 beginning at 3:00 pm at St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Ar. To download further information and an application, interested high school seniors can go to : www.ar-chambersingers.org It is important thatall directions are followed when preparing the application for submission.
CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS:
NHS:Seniors who have been invited to NHS- ALL National Honor Society dues must be paid by October 20. Dues are $15. If you paid in the Spring, you do not have to pay again. No exceptions. Please see Mrs. Webb to pay your dues.
