The Rise of The Vault

Searcy, AR (LP) — A recently started store located here in Searcy is rising to the top called The Vault. The Vault sells vintage clothes that represent clothes from the 70s, 80s, and 90s with a touch of  ‘00  modernism to spice the clothing up. Employee Alliyah Stark says, “This store is mainly for females, but there is a bit of male clothing here. I would recommend younger people shopping here.” The age suggestion is about 13-35 year old females, but like Alliyah said, there’s male clothing and apparel there. Thinking of vintage clothing, you’re probably thinking of old, fragile, and not the best of looking clothes. At the Vault, you can find the perfect piece of clothing just right for you. From bell bottom jeans to tennis skirts, crewnecks to band tees, they even have fun accessories. Stark also says, “I wanted to work here because I love vintage clothes, it’s very unique and not like everything else you see here in Searcy. My daily wardrobe also consists of clothing from here. Almost everything I own I’ve bought from this store.”

Employee Alliyah Starks

Retail and vintage stores are a way to gain experience in many different fields, like sales and retail, fashion and clothes, and more. Alliyah Starks says, “I take my college classes online. Hopefully down the road, I could do something with clothes and fashion. So maybe this could give me a head start.” It’s especially good for teens and college students with a busy school schedule.

At the start of her job, it was a little frightening when she started working and her nerves were a little wild but Alliyah shares with us, “I love working here. It’s very friendly and I don’t think I’ve ever had any bad interactions with any customers or workers here. Everyone that comes in is super nice.” Her daily routine at the store consists of coming in at 11 and turning on the open sign and the essential oil diffuser. She then cleans and straightens up a little bit and that’s how she opens the store up. Throughout her day, she restocks the clothes and brings new stuff out and then posts it on facebook and instagram. She closes the store at 5. Their facebook is The Vault Vintage and their instagram is @shopthevaultvintage.
