COMPUTER SCIENCE CLASSES: Searcy High School is excited to add several new computer science classes for the 2021-2022 school year. Courses we will offer include: Cybersecurity, Mobile App Development, Programming, Robotics, and Video Game Development. Class size is limited, so submit your request to join one of these classes as soon as possible. Forms are also available in the Guidance Center or Mr. McGarrah’s classroom, room 311.
CROSS COUNTRY:Any student wishing to run Cross Country next school year, please email Coach Carroll.
VARSITY CHEER TRYOUTS will be held May 20. The mandatory clinic will be Monday, May 17-Wednesday, May 19 from 3:30-5:30 in the Main Gym. You must have a current physical and a completed tryout packet before participating. These were handed out in March at the Parent Meeting, but there is also a copy in the Varsity Cheer Google Classroom. Please see Mrs. Shannon Holeyfield if you have any questions.
BOYS SOCCER TRYOUTS:Boys soccer tryouts will be held on Monday and Tuesday, May 24th and 25th from 3:30 till 4:30 at Lion Stadium. Any young man entering grades 9th through 12th next year and wanting to try out will need a current physical in order to do so. Please have cleats and shin guards for the tryout.
ANYONE INTERESTED IN SERVING ON THE 2021-2022 YEARBOOK STAFF should pick up an application from Mrs. Cook in Room 110. It should be returned by May 14. If you have any questions, you can email her at ccook@searcyschools.org.

SHS BOYS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS: Incoming 10-12th grade boys that are interested in playing basketball.

What to wear: T-shirt, athletic shorts, and basketball/ tennis shoes.

TRYOUTS FOR THE 2021-2022 SHS LION AND LADY LION TENNIS TEAMS will be held @ 4:00 on Tuesday, May 18th and Thursday, May 20th. Any student entering 9th-12th grade that wishes to try out must email Coach Watson @ mwatson@searcyschools.org to sign up. Students must have a current physical to try out. Returners must try out. Coach Watson will keep 10-12 on each side for varsity, and those players will be expected to participate in summer workouts. Others will be considered for the JV team, which will not begin practice until school starts in August.
TRYOUT WEEK FOR THE 2021-2022 SHS LIONSTEPPERS: will run from Monday, May 17, through Thursday, May 20, in the annex. Dancers make sure you wear proper attire to tryouts as discussed in our meeting. Remember all paperwork, including physicals, and uniforms for the 2020-2021 team must be turned in prior to May 17th, or the student will not be allowed to attend the tryouts. GOLF TRYOUTS: Tryouts for the 2021-2022 SHS Lion and Lady Lion Golf teams will be Monday, May 17th. Any student entering 9th-12th grade that wishes to tryout must email Coach Turney at bturney@searcyschools.org to sign up and obtain information about tryouts.
