Haas F1 Team Terminates Nikita Mazepin’s contract and replaced with Kevin Magnussen

Searcy, AR (LP) — The Haas Formula one team has terminated its contract with Russian driver Nikita Mazepin and sponsor title Uralkali. The decision was taken in the wake of Russia’s on going invasion of Ukraine and means no Russians are signed up to drive in F1 ahead if the new season. “Haas F1 team has elected to terminate, with immediate effect, the title partnership of Uralkali, and the driver contract of Nikita Mazepin,” said the team in a statement. As with the rest of the Formula One community, the team is shocked and sadded by the invasion of Ukraine and wishes for a swift and peaceful end to the conflict. The sport’s governing body, the FIA had kept open the possibility of Mazepins racing in F1 this year. However, Haas announed saturday that the deal with Mazepin and Uralkali has been terminated, with team saying news on a replacement driver would follow. Mazepin released a statement via social media saying, “I am very disappointed to hear that my F1 contract has been terminated, while I understand the difficulties, the ruling from FIA plus my ongoing willingness to accept the conditions proposed in order to continue were completely ignored and no process was followed in this unilateral step and to whose who have tried to understand, my eternal thanks. I have tresured my time in F1 and genuinely hope we can all be together again in better time. I will have more to day in the coming days.”

 

Kevin Magnussen makes his return in F1 since 2020

Kevin Magnussen made his return since 2020 after two years and now he has resigned t F1 team Haas for a multi-year deal to make a sensational return to Formula 1. Kevin Magnussen driving for McLaren in 2014 and 2015, Renault (2016) and raced for Haas from 2017 until his departure from the sport at the end of the 2020 season. During his 2 years with out F1 he has been taking part in sport cars and Indy car, and was set to join Peugeot’s World Endurance Championship in 2022. Kevin Magnussen will instead make an unexpected return to Formula to partner sophomore driver Mick Schumcher for the season ahead, following Haas decision (announced last Saturday). Team Principal Guether Steiner said, “I’m delighted to welcome Kevin Magnussen back to Haas F1 team, when looking for a driver who could bring value to the team. not to mention a wealth of formula 1 experience, Kevin was a straight forward decision for us.”
