The All-Region Choir traveled to Dover for the All-State Chorus, but only a select few could have made it.
“These students put in a lot of time into tryouts; they have been practicing since August,” said choir teacher Tina Niederbrach. “I am proud of my students.”
It was a eight voice part to try out for, with 50 chair places in each part. Senior Neale Zeringue tried out for Bass 2. He made chair 44 out of 50.
“It was a little intimidating at first. This is my second time trying out for All-State; it gets better and less intimidating each time you try out,” said Zeringue.
Senior Hal Neiderbrach is one of the three lucky people who has made it to All-State all four years of high school choir; he tried out for 2 base and made chair 14 out of 45.
“I tried out all 4 years because we had an awesome director, incredible music, and you have a good time,” said Hal Neiderbrach.
Sophomore Jackson Wilson tried out for tenor two. He was one of the few who did not make it.
“It was a good experience and I learned some stuff,” Wilson said. “I won’t give up.”
Neiderbrach suggest choir to other kids. He said it is best to go over your music, be confident, and don’t get nervous.
“It helps you become a better singer, more responsible, and you get to know many new people,” said Neiderbrach.
Congratulations to seniors Lawrence Maizon, Victoria Pulliam, Hal Niederbrach, Taylor Touchet, Tyler Touchet, Neale Zeringue, Rachel McCreedye; juniors Lizzie Bailey and Tyler Norris; sophomores Charity Barnes,, Kennedy Turley, Jordan Ladyman.
