After recently going on a Disney cruise, I have to say my experience was both satisfying and unforgettable.
The first day of getting settled in however was very stressful. We went to a boarding station and waited 30 minutes for our number to be called.
There was a very large crowd of people there crammed into one small room. Once we boarded the ship though, the fun seemed to never end.
At the beginning of each day that we were not at a port, we received a schedule of all the activities going on the ship that day.
There was many actvities that you could do while you were on the ship.
There was something for everyone; they ranged from drawing classes to basketball games.
They also held shows at the end of each day in the ship’s theatre.
During one of the shows the cruise director told us that the show being presented that night, “Twice Charmed”, was considered by broadway, but the Disney Cruise Line decided to only show the production on the ship.
My personal favorite show was “Villain’s Night.” It presented all of the Disney villains in a hilarious way.
When different members of the family weren’t doing activities, or at one of the ports, they could go to one of the designated “hang out” areas for their age group.
For little kids, they had what was called The Oceanier Club and Oceanier Lab; these were for four to nine year olds.
Parents could drop their kids off when they went t0 “adult only” events. This helped my family enjoy the trip immensely.
For tweens and teenagers they had the “Edge” and “Vibe;” There tweens and teenagers could hang out and play video games.
On my off time, I went to the “Vibe;” going there was a great time filler.
On our third day of the cruise, we stopped at a port in Grand Cayman, an island in the Caribbean, and had a great time.
We started out the day with a tour of the island. It was interesting to learn the culture of the people and see the different climates of the region.
Afterwords, at about noon, we went on a dolphin ride; that was very entertaining.
We got to hold onto the fins of the dolphins as they dragged us across a pool located off the side of the pacific.
Then, we spent the rest of the day shopping at the stores on the boardwalk.
The fourth day was an adventure. We went to Cozumel and took at tour of the island, explore the Mayan ruins, and learned about the ancient culture of the people of Cozumel; All of it was very interesting.
Going home on the last day at sea was pretty disappointing, because we knew that soon our fun would end. The ship activity directors succeeded in keeping us entertained.
That day was themed “Pirate Day.” We got to do different pirate themed activities, and at the end of the day they had a pirate party.
At the party, we got to dress up as pirates and dance to fun music. At the end of the party, they presented fireworks.
The morning going home was sad, but happy too because we got to think about the unforgettable memories we had just made.
I will never forget my experience on the Disney Cruise.
