“Anytime you go against a team that’s number one in the state, and number 19 in country; it’s going to be a challenge no matter what,” said English teacher, Steve Snow, “When you play a team of that caliber, you’ve got to be ready for anything and play the best game you’ve ever played.”

Searcy lions struggled on defense, but returned on offense.

Jeffery Oest talked about what they had expected.

“Ever since the forty-five was dropped against central, we’ve been waiting for them to explode again and come out of nowhere. They’re a really good team, very talented and have a long history,” Oest said.

Searcy made serious mistakes early in the game, which led to their defeat.

The Lions struggled to get the ball to the basket, the final score was thirty-four to seventy-six.”You just can’t make bad passes; you have to be confident all the time, and if you don’t get something out of a game like this you’ve just wasted your energy out there,” explained Snow.

“I thought they got a lot out of the game and now playing other teams will be easier, like one of those dunks we made tonight,” said Snow. “They know we can play; we just got outplayed tonight.”

After their tough defeat by North Little Rock, they’re still working hard to finish out the season.
