The Lady Lions completed the first match of the season against Harrison and from the looks of it, they’re competing better than ever.
“They switched in and out maybe every two minutes. So, we had everybody on the floor. We weren’t bending over like they were. That running paid off in practice,” said senior Britnee Broadway.
The lady lion’s defense will play a key role in their match ups this season.
“Our defense looked pretty good. When we put pressure on the ball they kind of freaked out a little bit. They had a couple of turn overs that helped us out,” said junior Tori Sanders.
The lady lions have great confidence in their team’s skill and defense.
“Our level of playing beats them. So I don’t think anybody can match up to our defense. Our offense isn’t going to be as good as our defense. We’re pretty quick. We’re right there to help each other on defense,” said Broadway.
No matter how well the players do this year, the players feel there is always room for improvement.
“I would like to improve on our half court try out,” said Sanders.
