Searcy, Ar.(LP)— What is Hunters Ed? Hunters Ed is defined as the course you take to get your hunters ed card to be able to get your hunting license so that you can keep the Arkansas Game and Fish Community from taking your stuff unless you are doing something illegal.

A student at the Searcy High School by the name of, Spencer Greene, with a passion for hunting and fishing gave some insight to the matter at hand, he said, “I am really wanting to have a hunters ed class here at the high school for the simple fact that there are some students who don’t have the time to go online and register for the class.” Spencer has already taken the hunters ed class and passed so that he can go hunting all he wants, but there is a reason he wants a hunters ed class here at the high school. Spencer replied, “The reason I want a hunters ed class here at the high school is for the students who have not taken the course and really want to, but the main reason is that the hunters ed class is an important class because the class itself has a lot of value to a lot of people that have already taken the course.”

The principal of the Searcy High School Mr. Gene Hodges has taken the hunters ed course himself and has given some information to see if the high school will be able to have a hunters ed course. He said, “I wish I could authorize a hunters ed class but that right falls to the school board to decide.” Mr. Hodges has taken the hunters ed class when he was 16 or 17. He goes on to state the better meaning of Hunter’s Ed, “I know the true meaning of taking the hunters ed course, it means to be aware and responsible when you are in the woods or the stand or wherever you are hunting so there is no accidents or mishaps when you are hunting.”

That’s the reason we must take a hunters ed course so that we can be safe in the woods if we are alone or are hunting with a friend or two. So remember when you are out in the woods hunting deer, squirrel, rabbit, raccoon, or whatever you hunt, please take your hunters ed class, hunt responsible and safely so that others don’t get hurt.
