Searcy AR (LP) — Many know about the Small Business Revolution hosted by Brinkman and co-host Ty Pennington. Their game is, every season they choose a narrow amount of small cities and towns for voting. The people that live within those towns, or around them are responsible for the voting. Posts are made showing the standings of the towns currently in the match up. The Small Business Revolution comes with a small business makeover and 500,000 dollars to the town. Small businesses are the main thing that make up the town. Winning this will create a way for towns to upgrade everything and make the town of Searcy more open for tourists.
This year was Season 4, the towns in running were: Albemarle, North Carolina, Arkansas City, Kansas, Arlington, Washington, Biddeford, Maine, Camas Washington, Cañon City, Colorado, Corsicana, Texas, Durant, Oklahoma, Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Gallatin, Tennessee, Searcy, Arkansas and more. The first standing post came out December 12, 2018. Searcy being 9th. Schools constantly making sure students are voting for our town. February 12 Searcy moved up to the top 5 town, and pushing forward, February 15 Searcy was number one, and stayed number one all the way up until February 18th when Durant Oklahoma passed Searcy two days before voting ended. This happening cause a huge jaw dropping moment when results came out February 26th saying that Searcy, Arkansas has won the Small Town Revolution Season 4, granting Searcy a town makeover with 500,000 dollars to the town. With this winning currently there is one of each type of business that will be upgraded. Bee’s Knees has put in for the makeover as well as Whistle Stop BQQ and Burger and a few others.
In the future, there will be so many changes to the decided business when the time comes to play. There could be complete remodels or even small upgrades in equipment or advertisement that will boost the business and tourist attraction just that much more. The possibilities for these companies are endless, and it is all because of the people of Searcy, and around the area.
