Tickets are $50.00 for Juniors and and their guests.   The ticket cost for guests of SHS juniors or seniors who are not students at SHS is $50.00.  Students should see Mrs. Farhatt or Mrs. Nielsen to purchase tickets.  Tickets may also be purchased at the door on prom night. The prom’s theme is The Greatest Showman and and will be held from 7:30 pm to 12 midnight in the beautifully 
transformed SHS Cafeteria.TICKET SALES FOR PROM: will go on sale Monday, April 15th and will continue through Thursday, April 25th. Seniors of Searcy High School are our honored guests and have received personal invitations.

 

FRENCH HONORARY: Any senior graduating this year who is currently in French honorary needs to come by Ms. McCready’s room (301) before graduation–regarding French honorary cords.

9/10 Men-Best 6A Large Men’s Ensemble

Voix-Best 6A Large Women’s Ensemble

Chamber-Best 6A Medium Mixed Chorus and Best Overall Medium Chorus

Concert Choir-Best 6A Large Mixed Chorus and Best Overall Large Chorus

(9/10 Women were only 1 point behind Russellville for the large Women’s Chorus category)

9/10 Women, 9/10 Men, Lion Heart, Voix Des Belles, Chamber and Concert Choir all received Superior Ratings, plaques and earned 6 Sweepstakes Trophies. 

 

2019 SHS GRADUATION DVD PRE-ORDERS: Pick up your DVD order form in either office. Each DVD is $20, and the money must be turned in with your order. Please have exact change or check will be accepted.

 

2ND ROUND OF VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS: The second round of volleyball tryouts will be May 13th from 3:30- 4:30 at the high school gym.

 

REMINDER: Prom is for Searcy High School Seniors and Juniors. SHS Sophomores may attend as a date of a Senior or Junior.  Freshmen are not allowed to attend the Prom.  Any prom date who is not a student at SHS must be approved by Mr. Hodges.  

SEA SCHOLARSHIP: If there is a senior who has a parent that is a member of SEA, you should check with the Guidance Office for the application for the 2019 SEA Scholarship.

 

POWDERPUFF FOOTBALL : Due to the weather forecast, the PowderPuff Football games have been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 24 at 4:30 p.m.  

 

A-STATE: If any senior student plans to attend A-State and has NOT accepted a scholarship offer and needs help doing this, please send them to see Mrs. Cleveland in the Guidance Center.

 

HONOR STOLES will be available for pick up by honor graduates in the Registrar’s Office beginning Monday, April 15th.

 

YEARBOOK: Students interested in joining the 2019-20 yearbook staff may pick up an application from Mrs. Holeyfield in Room 538/539.  Applications are due by Friday, May 3.

 

TRIBAL REGISTRATION CARD: Any graduating senior who has a Tribal Registration Card, please come by the Guidance Center for a scholarship application from The American Indian Center of Arkansas.

 

SENIORS: Colleges and Universities will require an 8 SEMESTER TRANSCRIPT for

admission purposes.  You must complete an 8 Semester Transcript Request Form found in

the East or West offices.

 

COMMAND CONSTRUCTION INC. of Searcy is pleased to announce its 2019 SUMMER APPRENTICE PROGRAM for rising high school seniors. Students will earn $11 per hour which is comparable to entry-level career concrete finishers. The program will run from June 3 through July 26, summer apprentices will be supervised by an experienced team leader and work for one month with a specialized construction carpenter and one month with a concrete finisher.   Interested students can pick up an application in the Guidance Center.

 

SEARCY BOARD OF REALTORS are offering the “Tina B. Daniel Scholarship” as well as a “Technical/Vocational Studies Scholarship. The deadline is April 15th! Please come by the Guidance Center if you are interested in an application.

SHS TENNIS TRYOUTS: Tryouts for the 2019 varsity tennis team will begin on May 14-15 @ 4:00 at the SHS courts.  You must have a current physical in order to try out.  No exceptions.  Returning players must try out. The top 10 players on ladies’ and men’s sides will make varsity.  Everyone else will be considered for junior varsity and will be invited to play in the SYTL.  Students may begin signing up for tennis tryouts on Mon. April 15 in Doc Watson’s room (317). Incoming freshmen may stop by the high school or email their names to Dr. Watson to add themselves to the list.  

GOLF TRYOUTS:  Tryouts for the 2019 Lion and Lady Lion golf teams will be May 13th-14th at Searcy Country Club at 3:30.  Any student interested in trying out needs to see Coach Turney in Room 117.  There will be a mandatory meeting for all students trying out in Coach Turney’s room (117) on Thursday, May 9th at 3:15.  Students must have a physical, return the information sheet, and attend the meeting in order to tryout.


SEARCY HIGH SCHOOL PROM PERMISSION FORM:  If a Searcy Senior or Junior plans to invite a guest (10th, 11th or 12th grade) to the Prom that does not attend Searcy High School, you must complete a “Guest Permission Form” prior to the prom.  The forms may be picked up in the East or West Office and must be returned to the East Office by April 25.

 

ATTENTION SENIORS: local scholarships are being posted to the website. Please check daily for updated ones. Students will need to print them out and follow the instructions closely regarding deadlines, essays, transcripts, or other items required.

 

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS: 

NHS: NHS meeting is Tuesday April 16, 2019 in Mrs. Rose’s room (Room 309) at 7:35 a.m.  New members are welcome.  If you haven’t already paid your dues, you may pay them at the meeting.  Be on time!
