PEP RALLY: There will be a pep rally for grades 10-12 Friday, Aug. 30th at 2:35

CONGRATULATIONS to Macy Hall – Student Council Sweetheart.

HENDRIX: Any student who is interested in speaking with the Hendrix recruiter needs to sign up in the Guidance Center by September 19.   

 COLLEGE &CAREER FAIR: Searcy High School will host it’s annual College & Career Fair on October 7.  Seniors will go to the cafeteria 2nd period 8:50-9:35 and juniors will go 3rd period 9:40-10:25.  

 

Please make your students know that this is a state sanctioned event by the ARKACRO (Arkansas Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers) organization.  Very few high schools are given the opportunity to host this event.  Most high schools have to be transported to college or technical schools in order to have the opportunity to meet with such a wide variety of post-secondary organizations at one time. 

 9TH GRADE QUIZ BOWL: Ninth graders interested in participating in quiz bowl the the first practice will be Thursday, August 29 in Mr. George’s Room at AJHS. The team is open to 7th-9th graders. If you require assistance on getting to the Jr. High please notify Mr. George and he can give you the correct information. Practice will conclude at 4:15, please arrange transportation accordingly

EUROPE TRIP: Any 10th, or 11th grade student interested in going on the 2021 Europe trip needs to see Mrs Jones between classes for info. The parent meeting for this trip is Thursday, 8/29 in the SHS library at 6:00 pm. 

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS: 

FTA: Students may begin signing up for Future Teachers of America on Monday, August 19 in Mrs. Cook’s room, 110. Any student, grades 9-12, are welcome to join. Dues are $5.00.

 

KEY CLUB:  The First Key Club Meeting will be September 3rd in Mrs. Butler’s Room. Anyone wishing to join Key club can go by Mrs. Butler’s room to pick up an application. Returning members need to have their $15 dues paid before the first meeting.
STUDENT COUNCIL:9th grade students interested in running for student council need to get a petition and form from their Tessera teacher, Mrs. Edelmann in room 204, or Mrs. Joyner in room 321.  These MUST be turned in by Friday, September 6 by 3:15 to Mrs. Edelmann in room 204.  Elections will take place on Friday, September 13.

FRENCH HONORARY: Students in French honorary need to come by Ms. McCready’s room (301) to pick up an information sheet and pay dues (5$)

BETA CLUB: Beta Club dues are $15 and are due by Friday, September 13th. Beta members must pay dues to be considered active members for the 2019-2020 school year. 

SPANISH CLUB: Stop by room 324 to sign up for Spanish Club with Miss Haynes.  Spanish Club is open to all current Spanish students and former club members.  Dues are $5 and must be paid prior to voting for officers or Sweetheart

FFA: First FFA meeting, Thursday, Sept 5th.-FFA dues are due by Sept 6th; $25

– Fair Day permission slips and payment due by Friday, Sept 6th; $10

FBLA: Any business student or former business student interested in joining FBLA please stop by room 206 and pick up a membership form.  The first meeting will be Wednesday, September 4 at 7:35 in room 206 (Akridge’s room)
