Searcy, AR (LP) — How humans manage time around is so complicated especially when they have something that takes up eight hours of your day. Students have to deal with this five days out of the week. How students manage time is different between all. But if not managed right they seem to all have the same outcome. Many students have to learn to manage time when coming to a high school. With sports, school, work, family, friends, Ect. If time is not managed correctly you can have a bad outcome, such as dropping grades, not being able to play in sports, not getting to spend time with family or friends because you need to catch up. So how do teens manage their time?

Seeing how students manage their time, a former student here at Searcy High School Brayden Cook manages his time well. “ I try to spread it out evenly between things like work, schools, and friends.” A good time management can keep you and your mind set organized and focused. “ I try and get it all done but I can’t because I don’t know the answers and trying to find the answers and trying to do it at the last second takes more time because my stress level gets high which slows me down.” When you can’t finish homework in class, teachers will assign it as homework. manages his time as best he can even if he needs to squeeze work around. “Each class at Searcy High School is around 45 minutes per class. When work is not completed students will have to either go and do the work in another class or do it after school when they possibly don’t have any time if they have to work or go do something else after school.” When work is not completed in class it makes time very difficult to move around because you don’t know when you can get that work done. Michael Shourd is a student known to keep his time organized and work caught up. “If work is not done in class it makes it more stressful and frustrating because you go to the next class and you just stress out about when you can finish the rest of your work which just stresses from that you stress more and fall behind in that class. So once you fall behind a little you just keep falling behind more and more.” Students have noticed that when you fall behind on one thing your stress level will go out of control and you will  just keep falling behind until you finally catch up. So managing time for students is the best way for them to stay out of a stressful situation.

Seeing how students at Searcy High School manage their time is impressive. They find their ways around and make sure that they get their stuff done. Students do find troubles along the way but manage around it. Even when things get in the way of something they want to do some may push it to the side or may not even care about what the consequences might be. But after that they will learn to take action in what they need to do before doing what they want to do. So yes, managing time is great and that’s why Searcy students do the best they can.
