Lion TV stories and shows can be seen on a new app that is available for iPhone and Android smart phones. U.S. Education TV, an online streaming service for high schools around the U.S. has developed the app that allows users to pick a school and view content.
“We are very excited that students, teachers, parents and people in the community will be able to use this app to see what students in Lion TV classes are doing,” Jacki Romey, faculty adviser said. “It is just one more piece in showcasing programing.”
Currently, daily shows can be seen on White County Video channel 18 and many stories can be seen on this website.
“We were offered the free service from U.S. Ed TV and decided to try it out this year, ” Romey said. “Even though we have not had any live events, we would like to do that in the future.”
More than 160 stories and shows have been uploaded to the site since the beginning of the year at http://www.useducationtv.com/default.aspx?sid=2088&pid=2089.
“It new app makes it even better because you can look at shows right from your phone,” Romey said. “And the video is fast and beautiful.”
Other schools on the network are enjoying the new app, including Texas High in Texarkana.
“It’s very clean, lightning fast, in HD,” Charles Aldridge of Tigervision said. “I’ve never seen this kind of quality. Our videos on my school website, through US Education TV is now even easier to access with no compromise in quality.
Aldridge said they do a lot of live streaming so the app will be great for that.
“So many of our students have iPhones and I can’t wait for our next live stream,” Aldridge said. “Our students can literally watch it live on their phones.”
To find the free app search for “U.S. Education TV free” in the app store. Once the app has downloaded, the home screen will ask to set your school. The GPS on your phone will quickly find Searcy High School.
