The EAST’s program EAST Night Out allows students to show the community what the class does.
“It’s basically a night to just let students share projects with different members of the community and this year it’s going to be a lot bigger than it was last year. It’s just a chance for students to display their projects.”
Though EAST Night Out is important to many of the students they feel that EAST has touched them in many different ways.
“It’s definitely just opened my eyes to the different opportunities that we actually have here in the school to solve community problems,” senior Gracie Bain said. “It’s helped me become a better person by understanding the needs of the community.”
The EAST department hopes that in doing this event that everyone can make a difference.
“Well, this is my first year and for my project we did fire department mapping. We had to map out a new place for a couple new fire departments proposed areas and how much area they’ll cover,” said junoir Dylan Clay.
EAST Night was created to help the community and students alike understand the program.
“To present what our class is all about and the possibilities of how we can use this class to help our community,” explained Rinda Hall.
EAST night out is October 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
